Content, Satisfied and Happy
I was going through today’s reading of Joyce Meyer’s Starting Your Day Right; Devotions for Each Morning of the Year.

It talked about being Fully Satisfied with whatever we have whether in lean times and in times of abundance when we learn to enjoy fellowship with the Lord. Some people tend to find contentment through material possessions and awards but nothing is more satisfying than our walk with God. Joyce Meyer reiterated that we should remember to thank God every morning for seeing us through yesterday and for being with us today. She even stressed that we praise the Lord our Father for providing for us each and everyday, and for working out situations in our life for our good. And finally, she said to ask Him to make us aware of His presence all day long for peace fills our hearts when our mind is on the Lord.
We should always remember to thank God for everything. For every blessing He has given us, for every trials that help build our character and our faith, for every pain that helps strengthen us, for every joy and happiness that fills our hearts, and for everyone around us, family, friends and enemy alike, who help us become the person we are today. We should always remember to be content with whatever we have and just know that it is through Him where we find comfort and strength. Scripture says; “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:12-13).
We tend to be blinded by material possessions, awards, and favor of man because we tend to only focus our eyes and heart in the world we live in and our surroundings. We must learn to look beyond that and know that God is with us everyday, looking after us, guiding us through everything we are going through, covering us with His protection against whatever is thrown our way. Whenever things get too heavy a burden for us to bear, we must remember to close our eyes, pray to God, and trust that He will lift us up and see us through. Always remember to be content with what we have and that whatever we are lacking to face our troubles, God will provide. We lack nothing when God is with us.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Father God, thank you. Thank you for helping me get through yesterday. Thank you for today, thank you for Your blessings today. I know that whatever may come my way today, You will be there, holding my hand, helping me to get through. I am thankful for all the things You have given me. I know I lack nothing because I have You in my life and it is through and with You that I will emerge victorious against any and all trials and tribulations that I will face today and forever. Please continue to shower me with wisdom, courage, strength, grace, patience, and whatever else I may need today and every day. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
